Rustic oak sleeper retaining wall and garden transformation

Challenge: To dig back the original bank and retain it with rustic oak sleeper walls.

Solution: I proposed digging back the original bank to create a level area. To retain the bank, I suggested using rustic oak sleeper walls, which would provide both durability and a natural look. 

​

For the garden area, I recommended laying new turf on part of the space and covering the remaining area with shingle. I also suggested using reclaimed soft red bricks with lime mortar to keep in line with the existing bar conversion.

 

Result: A transformed garden with a retained bank supported by rustic oak sleeper walls. The combination of new turf, shingle and red bricks made the look of the barn conversion, making it stand out even more.
